Madonna loves green tea, Daniel Craig prefers “Earl Grey”, and Gisele Bundchen dreams of her homeland while sipping maté
If you wonder what do you have in common with celebrities like Lady Gaga, Daniel Craig or Madonna, just make yourself a cup of tea. Do you know how many celebrities adore tea as much as we mere mortals do? Not a small number … So let’s compare our preferences with theirs!
Tea is on fashion and we don’t realize it. It’s time to stop thinking that tea is a drink only for cold days or when we got the flu. Did you know that many singers, actors and supermodels prefer to drink tea even at the most glamorous parties?
Lady Gaga is addicted to tea
One of those who prefer to drink tea anywhere they go, is Lady Gaga. Once she even attended an award ceremony with a porcelain tea cup in hand. Sometimes she wears a teacup fascinator. She always demands tea in her dressing room during concerts. And she often appears on stage with a cup of tea. Wherever she travels, she carries her personal China tea set. In an interview she admited:: „I love tea so much, when I have tea, I feel like I can think clearly and give an intelligent interview. Right now, I’m waiting for my Tea….I’m like a Heroin addict!”.“
It is no surprise that many big tea producers competed to offer her the most lucrative contract to advertise their brand. But Lady Gaga surprised everybody because, instead of taking a million dollar check and spend it all for herself, she organized the charity campaign Cup of Kindness with Starbucks. And so a small sum of each beverage from the singer’s personally approved selection went to the Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation to support young people.
And if you wonder which is Lady Gaga’s favorite tea, it is black tea!
Taylor Swift sings about tea
Taylor Swift often posts photos on social media on which she enjoys a cup of afternoon tea with her friends, wherever she is at the moment. One of them is in the company of Elie Goulding and Selena Gomez in Las Vegas, for example. And whenever she is on tour, after the end of her shows, she invites her special guests, including fans to a Tea Party. She dedicated a song to tea – “Sweet Tea and God’s Graces” and in the video for “Look What You Made Me Do” we also see her drinking tea.
Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow bet of green tea
Madonna loves green tea. The queen of pop believes that her energy comes from green tea. And we believe her – green tea has an invigorating effect and contains a large amount of vitamin C. Madonna also posts photos on social media with a cup of tea, without naming the brand, of course. Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, now better known as the owner of the lifestyle and wellness brand Goop, also loves green tea. She drinks it especially in the afternoon to give her enough strength to endure her busy routine until the evening. And Courtney Love claims that she maintains her figure with jasmine green tea and she loves to share it with her friends. She may have received advice from her nutritionist, who like many others knows that green tea helps get rid of excess weight.
Tea drunk rockandroll legends
The famous Liverpool four, “The Beatles”, has a famous photo with a cup of tea, taken during the release of their album “Sergeant Pepper”. John Lennon and Paul McCartney admit that they wrote their first hits while improvising over a cup of tea. Sir Paul also has a special song called English Tea dedicated on the typical English Sunday morning in the countryside where tea is a must.
And what was the reason for the song? Paul said: “I was abroad and I’d asked for a cup of tea. Now, if you’re in England, you say, ‘Cup of tea’ – and they know what you mean. But, if you’re abroad, they say, ‘What kind of tea?’ But, you have to say, ‘English breakfast tea‘ – and then you’ll get a cup of tea.” And how does Paul McCartney drink his tea? A famous vegetarian for decades, he adds a little soy milk to it and a lump of sugar.
His fellow rock dinosaur Mick Jagger, on the other hand, is known for his phrase, “I got nasty habits; I take tea at three.” We don’t know if Jagger drinks his tea earlier than the famous 5 o’clock tea or wakes up rather late and that’s his morning cup of tea.
Ozzy Osbourne says he has breakfast with fruit and a cup of Yorkshire golden tea. We were curious to find out what it was. Black tea, of course, but blends of Kenyan, Rwandan and Indian varieties.
Robbie Williams is also at the same page as his older colleagues. However, he has always been a rebel and loves Chinese Kuding tea. Although not from the Camellia sinensis family, this is also tea, but herbal. It is rich in vitamins A, D, Eand elements silicon, manganese, sulfur, iron. Despite its bitter taste, it was also the favorite beverage of the 8th-century Chinese Emperor Tang.
As we can see rockandroll celebrities also adore tea although they don’t always drink it pure…
Top models also adore tea
Kate Moss is also among tea’s loyal fans. She admitedly drinks about 13 cups a day. Maybe she survives mostly on tea. Probably because of this, in 2002 she was chosen as the official face of the British Tea Council in order to promote tea as healthy drink among youth. Kate Moss also claims that she never throws away the tea leaves from her infusion, but reads her future on them.
Gisele Bündchen manages successfuly to be a model, mother, wife, eco-activist and businesswoman with the help of tea. Her choice – maté. “It tastes completely different than green tea but I think it has the same effect,” says Bundchen,”It’s definitely something that gives you energy.” Bundchen also admits that she loves maté because it gives the native Brazilian a sense of home.
Are actors and actresses conservative in their choice of tea?
Film celebrities adore tea also. Probably the second most popular black tea among the British, “Earl Grey”, is favorite to the latest James Bond, the actor Daniel Craig. He follows the tradition of enjoying a cup of tea when he is not drinking a martini in front of the camera, set by the first 007, Sean Connery. This tea tradition off-camera was also followed by one of Her Majesty’s most elegant secret agents, Pierce Brosnan.
Daniel Craig’s colleague, who is also his real life wife, Rachel Weisz, also likes black tea. She claims to love “a proper builder’s cup of tea”. This is a British English colloquial term for a strong cup of tea. It takes its name from the inexpensive tea commonly drunk by labourers taking a break.
Benedict Cumberbatch shares her oppinion, “Every once in a while I like a milky builder’s tea with a couple of sugars… on a cold night there is nothing quite like it.”
Helena Bonham Carter from “The Crown” admits that she drinks several huge cups a day. She prefers “Earl Grey” in a sachet. The actress immerses the sachet 7 times in hot water and her favorute drink is ready.
Extraordinary in every sense Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is a huge dandelion tea fan. She bets on it when she wants to cleanse herself and de-bloat.
Angelina Jolie is the winner of the award for the most unexpected choice of tea is. She soaks fresh garlic cloves in hot water to protect against various viruses and flu. We admit that we do not offer such tea, but the teas from our Box “Immunity” have the same effect and leave you with a fresh breath.
So, yes, celebrities adore tea!
